02Project context

A local heritage label with a real story — and no digital presence.

Rajvastra — “Rooted in Rajasthan. Woven for Today.” — is presented in the project materials as a small, locally grown Rajasthan heritage brand built around handcrafted Bandhani textiles from artisans across Kutch, Sikar and Jodhpur.

The job was to build a digital presence that could carry four things at once:

  • Heritage
  • Craftsmanship
  • Authenticity
  • Modern wearability

Brand context documented in the project materials — not performance metrics.

03The brief

Five things the digital presence had to do.

  1. Build a cinematic, storytelling-first landing page for a brand with no prior digital presence.

  2. Communicate artisan heritage authentically — not merely as a marketing claim, but as lived experience.

  3. Make the brand feel premium and nationally competitive despite being a local Rajasthan label.

  4. Drive two key actions: Explore Collection and join the community via Instagram.

  5. Design mobile-first, because the primary audience discovers brands on their phones.

04Strategy & positioning

Rooted in Rajasthan.
Woven for Today.

I developed this positioning line to hold two things in balance — heritage and modern relevance. Neither half works without the other.

“Is this too traditional?”

Answered by“Woven for Today”, modern silhouettes in the collections, and the Modern Wearability pillar.

“Is this actually handmade?”

Answered byThe artisan story, the tying → dyeing → finishing craft journey, and the Handmade and Artisan-Led pillars.

These were the two audience tensions identified in the case study. The page structure and narrative were designed so that every section addresses one of them.

  1. Heritage
  2. Authenticity
  3. Modern relevance
  4. Trust
  5. Action

05From story to digital experience

Four layers of work, one experience.

Each layer builds on the one before it: the positioning decides the structure, the structure decides the copy, and the copy sets up the actions.

    Strategy & positioning

    • Developed “Rooted in Rajasthan. Woven for Today.”
    • Balanced heritage authenticity with modern relevance
    • Addressed the two audience tensions

    • Artisan-first storytelling
    • Emotional connection to craft
    • Luxury heritage language
  4. 04

    Conversion design

    • Primary CTA: Explore Collection

06Landing page architecture

Six sections, ordered like a story.

The visitor meets the promise, then the people, then the product, then the proof of craft, then the reasons to believe — and only then is asked to join.

07Copy & narrative

“Every tied knot carries the rhythm of a village in Kutch, Sikar or Jodhpur — quiet, deliberate, and deeply human.”

The copy was deliberately written to feel editorial rather than promotional — aligning the digital experience with luxury heritage-brand storytelling.

The same restraint runs through the smaller lines: the newsletter is “Letters from Jaipur — slow notes on craft, drops, and the people who make it.”

08Brand pillars

Five reasons to believe.

  • Handmade in Rajasthan

Every piece tied, dyed and finished in partner workshops across 14 villages.

  • Small batch production

Less, but with intention — no mass runs, no waste.

  • Artisan-led

Karigars positioned as co-creators rather than simply suppliers.

  • Traditional craftsmanship

Bandhani, ajrakh and block printing kept alive in living form.

  • Modern wearability

Silhouettes designed for contemporary Indian lifestyles.

09Visual system

Warm light, real textiles, a palette taken from the dye vats.

The visual board set the rules for every image and screen: Bandhani up close, artisan hands, sandstone architecture, textile markets and garments worn in context.

Colour system

  • Maroon
  • Mustard
  • Indigo
  • Terracotta
  • Sand
  • Olive

10The showcase website

From board to browser.

To demonstrate how the strategy could translate into a live digital experience, I built a showcase landing-page prototype in Lovable.

11Mobile experience

Designed mobile-first.

Mobile optimisation was part of the brief from day one — the audience discovers brands on their phones, so the page was shaped for a thumb and a small screen first.

  • Visual hierarchy
  • Readable storytelling
  • Accessible CTAs
  • Collection discovery
  • Compact navigation
  • Community and social integration

12Conversion design

One clear ask, two gentle ones.

A heritage story loses its spell if every section shouts “buy”. So there's a single primary action above the fold, and everything else is framed as belonging rather than selling.

14Key takeaway

We don't manufacture fashion.
We carry forward a story.

This project shows how I approach digital marketing beyond campaigns — by connecting positioning, storytelling, user experience and conversion thinking into one coherent digital experience.
